User Reviews

Users generally note improvements over earlier versions of the app and that ebooks are accessible in one place, with some offline loading. However, recurring issues include poor iPhone readability and lack of in-book navigation (no search or index), missing content (books and journals) in the app, login problems (including OpenAthens sign-in), and unreliable downloads or corrupted files. These themes appear across multiple reviews, indicating the app is a step up from prior releases but still lacks essential features, content access, and reliability for clinical users.
Pros
  • Notable improvements over earlier app versions
  • Ebooks accessible in one place (consolidated library)
  • Some ebooks load and work offline
Cons
  • Poor readability on iPhone; not optimized, requires zoom and limited navigation
  • Missing books and journals in the app; incomplete content access
  • Login/authentication problems (OpenAthens sign-in missing and general login failures)
  • Unreliable ebook downloads and occasional corrupted files

The web version is not efficient. No index. Table of contents? For as much as books cost there should be more incentive to have a decent reader for those who buy online or eBook versions of books. Web only is short sited and pushes purchase of print. Better investment into this app would serve clinicians and patients better.

Much better than before, but where is support for Apple Pencil highlighting

Books are hard to read. Not formatted for iPhone and no “search” ability within the book Wait for the app of the book you want, and buy that….. because AAP doesn’t give you the app if you buy the ebook. Nelson’s pediatric antibiotic therapy app is much better than reading it on this
