Features & Capabilities

OhMD is a HIPAA-compliant omni-channel patient communication platform designed for physician practices dealing with high inbound call volume. It brings AI-driven and human-led conversations together across phone, text, and web in one unified inbox, enabling you to manage all patient communications from a single system.

It uses a hero-in-the-loop model where AI handles routine requests such as appointment scheduling, call deflection, voicemail transcription, and common questions. When staff input is needed, teams can step into, respond to, or take over conversations from the same inbox, ensuring automation never sacrifices visibility or control. OhMD combines secure texting, calling, and AI voice in one platform, keeping patient conversations centralized, searchable, and properly assigned to reduce front desk interruptions and staff burnout. Core capabilities include AI-assisted call answering and scheduling, secure texting and call-to-text deflection, a unified inbox for calls, texts, and web chat, smart routing based on patient intent, and human takeover of AI conversations when needed.

User Reviews

Users largely report OhMD on iOS as unstable and unreliable. Recurrent issues include the app failing to load or opening to a blank screen, messages failing to send or disappearing after refresh, and frequent sign-in/login problems. Notifications often don’t arrive, and there is no clear unread message indicator. The update cycle often forces reinstallations, with crashes reported after updates. A few reviews mention usefulness in theory and that support can be helpful, and one reviewer appreciates texting patients with automatic entry to the medical record, but overall reliability needs improvement.
Pros
  • Texting with patients and auto-adding messages to the medical record.
  • Support is described as helpful by at least one user.
  • Some users found it useful at times.
Cons
  • Mobile app frequently fails to load or opens to a blank screen.
  • Messages don’t consistently send or disappear after refresh.
  • Notifications do not reliably arrive and there is no unread indicator.
  • Frequent need to reinstall or re-download; crashes after updates.
  • Login/sign-in issues and password problems (GraphQL errors, not staying logged in).

It suddenly logged me off wanting me to sign into a a”test” site. I attempted to use the same password and username I use to get into the web application (as I always have) it states my username or password is incorrect. I deleted and reinstalled the app, same issue. I login into the web application from my phone and the mobile web page is pretty worthless, I can’t get back to all my messages. So I have to get to a laptop to sign into. Not very helpful when you need access at all times.

It won’t let me type and send anymore with the new iOS. I can only send photos.
