I’ve been playing this game for years (on and off until recently) and I absolutely love it but it needs more. Once you clear all the little places, then it’s just repeat all over again. There needs to be more. If there is, please let me know!

Correction: With the latest update it became impossible to gain permanent control over your provinces. Province income is (was) the only reliable form is progress in the game. Now each province can and will be taken back from you, even if they are at max (level 50). It is a considerably long time investment to reach level 50, and losing at least one province each day is a big discouragement. The game has become like the story of Sisyphus, it doesn't matter how hard you try, you'll never do real progress. This is a good game with an interesting strategy. While I have been enjoying it so far, I've noticed many users in the Arena that have units with impossible stats. One of them, user (...)Molotov(...) has a "Grand Master of Air" with a damage score of 931 and a"High Witch" with Initiative higher than 300! :/. There are almost no bugs, and as long as you don't expect to play the Arena, it is an enjoyable game that does not require PtW.
