Cheatsheet: Sticky Note Widget

Quick Recall Memos + Watch App

Features & Capabilities

Cheatsheet is a lightweight memo widget for the little details you forget—hotel rooms, IDs, luggage codes. Add cheats, organize them with folders and titles, and access them instantly from widgets or the Custom Keyboard. Quickly copy by tapping and holding, search in-app and in Spotlight, and use Shortcuts or Siri to add notes or find them. Notes support basic formatting, and you can choose from hundreds of icons to recognize entries at a glance. Pro features unlock unlimited widget and keyboard usage, Passcode Lock, and iCloud synchronization across devices.

Cheatsheet extends to Apple Watch and the Today widget, with watch complications showing your top cheats. The keyboard extension shows up to 50 cheats for insertion anywhere, and automation is available through Shortcuts. It also includes a URL scheme for adding cheats and iOS 18 controls to manage notes from Control Center. Pro unlocks extra organization with folders and cross-device sync, ensuring your cheats stay with you wherever you go.

User Reviews

Users praise Cheatsheet for fast, convenient access via the Home Screen widget (and Apple Watch) and its simple UI for quick reference, especially for addresses, codes, and reminders across devices with passcode security. Common downsides include intrusive upsell prompts for Cheatsheet Pro, occasional data-loss where memos disappear or remain on the widget, syncing issues (iCloud), and a not-quite-intuitive feel for some. Many want photo attachments and nested folders. Overall it’s strong for quick notes and cross‑device use, but reliability issues and feature gaps temper enthusiasm.
Pros
  • Fast, convenient access through the Home Screen widget (and Apple Watch).
  • Simple, clean, easy-to-use UI for quick reference.
  • Great for storing addresses, codes, passwords, and reminders across devices.
  • Cross-device syncing across iPhone and Mac with iCloud support.
  • Security via passcode protection for stored data.
Cons
  • Intrusive upsell prompts for Cheatsheet Pro appearing in lists and on the widget.
  • Notes can disappear or be difficult to delete; memo/data-loss bugs in the widget.
  • Syncing issues, often tied to iCloud.
  • Not intuitive for some users.
  • Lack of support for photos/attachments and nested folders (requested features).

This app does just what you need and more than you realize. It puts notes, reminders, lists, and anything else in text in any and all the places you need them: - Dropping down from your Mac menu bar - Stacked like cards on your iPhone pages using widget stacks - Getting your attention like sticky notes on your screens and side panel and lockscreen - Popping up from the keyboard, ready to paste into whatever however many times - Lined up in the app, sortable by name or icon or folder or date Once you get it, like, I mean really get it - you start to realize you don’t really need some of the apps you thought you needed to keep your notes where you want them. Do you have a somatic calming process or quick breathing routine you need at your fingertips? Need a high-level overview of each of your projects to swipe through? How about flashcards in the side panel for the language you are learning? Or keyboard shortcuts just a click away on your Mac? Got any snippets of code or commentary that you paste in a lot? Just quickly change the keyboard and find your cheat. Simple text to do list that you can add to as the day goes on? I like to keep one in the side bar. The thing is, Cheatsheets kind of merges your mind with your phone and other devices, changing them from distractions into guides, capture tools, and sources of inspiration.

➊ Deeplinks —Really wish there was a way copy a deeplink to specific memos in Cheatsheet so it would be easier to reference and open them from another app in Cheatsheet app from elsewhere on my iPhone and Mac such as from  Notes for example. ➋ More unicode type characters please —Issues with some unicode type characters found in UniChar.
