The DSLR Camera app provides DSLR-like manual controls, RAW support, and a clean UI at a reasonable price, and is capable of delivering strong photos when it runs smoothly. However, repeated crashes across iPhone models, a broken capture/save flow (no auto-save, forced AI filters), feature gaps (macro lens, 16:9, 60fps) and unreliable AR, plus performance and Dynamic Island UI issues, severely impact reliability. Post-update compatibility problems and watermarking further degrade user experience.

Frequent crashes and instability on various iPhone models (including iPhone 17/17 Pro Max) and after updates
Poor capture/save workflow: no automatic save, forced AI filters, and inability to shoot multiple photos in quick succession
Feature gaps and AR issues: macro lens missing, missing 16:9 and 60fps options, AR features often fail
Performance and UI problems: slow startup/load times, laggy controls, and Dynamic Island UI integration issues
Compatibility and export problems after iOS updates: lingering iOS 17/18 compatibility issues, watermark appears on saved photos, and conflicts when deactivating the iPhone camera app

Recent reviews

Although this app allows more flexible options-you know, like Apple’s app once had-DSLR Camera crashes consistently when using portrait manual mode. Every single time. I will block the payment for this app.
