User Reviews

Oystour is praised for its beautiful visuals and descriptive oyster profiles, offering a comprehensive, easy-to-use encyclopedia that's especially handy for travelers. However, the app suffers from an incomplete database, lack of user contributions or notes, and outdated content with occasional bugs. Geographic coverage gaps and limited updates further hinder its usefulness. Overall, strong visuals and depth are offset by missing data and no way for users to contribute or personalize entries.

Pros

Beautiful visuals with high-quality oyster photos
Robust, descriptive tasting profiles and educational content
Comprehensive oyster encyclopedia that's easy to explore
Classy, easy-to-use interface
Travel-friendly and useful for finding/choosing oysters while traveling

Cons

Incomplete/missing oyster entries; many oysters aren’t listed and you can’t add new ones
No user-contributed content (no notes, comments, or custom entries)
Outdated or infrequently updated content with limited events
Bugs and reliability issues; subpar database
Geographic coverage gaps (missing regional oysters, e.g., West Coast, certain areas)

Recent reviews

Needs updates for the app. 99% of the oysters I look up aren’t in the guide. The internet works better.

I wish this app was more functional because it's a great idea. I can't do anything but "like" a variety, if it's even on the menu, which it usually isn't.
