User Reviews

Auricula is praised for its customization, quick, bite-sized practice, appealing design, and perceived value, with users reporting clear progress. However, it can be challenging for beginners due to difficult intervals, and the four-interval minimum limits targeted practice on only a few intervals. Overall, it’s effective and enjoyable for many, but could improve onboarding and flexibility for simpler starting points.
Pros
  • Highly customizable interval training (select intervals and modes like ascending/descending/random; includes context-free and contextualized options)
  • Bite-size practice that fits easily into daily routines and supports frequent practice
  • Strong UI/ visuals with colors and clear progress indicators; clean, simple design
  • Good value and accessible Pro features; affordable pricing and positive impression of subscriptions
  • Tangible progress and usefulness (helps identify weaknesses; users report meaningful improvement)
Cons
  • Beginner-friendliness can be an issue: some intervals are perceived as too difficult for newcomers (e.g., 9ths/10ths)
Recent reviews
Using the free version. But 9ths and 10ths? It would be better to begin with simple things. Like major 3rds. I think the items are just way too difficult.

I love everything about this interval trainer. The selections, colors, gradients of success! One request would be to list the intervals and type (descending, etc on the percentage page) so a screen shor could be kept of the details.

Downloaded out of interest to test my interval recognition. It was quite revealing to see where I need more focus! Some intervals are easy, others challenging, so I’ve just purchased the full version to practice more than once per day :)
