At the end of the day, this app presents 71 screens of two one- or two-syllable words that you can hear pronounced and that you can record and have rated correct or incorrect. While the “game” function of unlocking new levels seems appealing, being locked out of using the app for twenty-four hours after recording approximately 40 different words is not only frustrating, but works against any common pedagogical sense. Because this is a free app with no paid version to upgrade to, it makes no sense to stop the user from using a learning tool. Even if there was a paid full version to upgrade to, I do not see the pedagogical value of this app beyond a very simple listen and repeat of simple words.
