NGSL Builder

NGSL Builder is a Chrome extension designed for learners and teachers to use the New General Service List (NGSL), a freely available, open-source word list covering most everyday English. It lets you download, email, and organize NGSL, and provides science-based study tools to learn quickly, track progress, and share results with teachers. Word definitions use simple English, and audio pronunciations are provided by a native North American English speaker.

Key features include Intelligent Wordlist Maker to select unknown words by frequency, Intelligent Flashcards built on spaced repetition to reinforce memory, and a flexible study flow that adapts to your schedule. The tool supports frequency-based word selection, progress reporting, and email export, with the NGSL background explained on the project site.
