User Reviews

Inshorts is praised for concise, fast, up-to-date news that keeps users quickly informed with a seamless experience. However, multiple critics flag a heavy ad load and even ads masquerading as news, notification bugs that open ads or unrelated articles, and content bias toward the US or Bollywood. Overall, it remains a strong quick-read briefing app with room for better balance and UX improvements.
Pros
  • Concise, quick-to-read news briefs that are easy to skim.
  • Up-to-date coverage with timely updates and even advance briefs.
  • Informative content that provides a broad overview of main/world news.
  • Seamless, fast user experience and is often described as a go-to app.
Cons
  • Ad-heavy experience with paid ads that feel like news and can disrupt reading.
  • Notification-related issues where tapping a notification opens the wrong content or ads.
  • Perceived bias and unbalanced coverage (USA-centric focus and more Bollywood content).

I don't want to participate in the daily ritual streak and don't want notifications for it. Please refrain from sending unsolicited notifications. I'm receiving two notifications for this daily ritual everyday. I only want news notifications, and those should be from the selected topics. Also, the in-app feedback system is very poor. I posted the same feedback on 7th May, and today, 17th May, it is still under review, and there has been no update from the team since day 1.
