Features & Capabilities

Probability-Distributions is an educational tool for learning statistics. It lets you compute probabilities, approximate percentiles, and plot probability density functions (PDFs) for a wide range of continuous distributions, including normal, t, chi-square, F, exponential, gamma, beta, log-normal, Pareto, and Weibull.

For discrete models, it supports binomial, geometric, hypergeometric, Poisson, and negative binomial distributions, showing probabilities and PMFs to aid intuition and coursework.

User Reviews

Overall, users praise Probability-Distributions for being free, easy to use, and graphically oriented, with broad coverage of distributions and quick calculations. They value raw-data input for hypothesis testing and confidence intervals, plus easy access to formulas for mean and variance. The app is especially helpful for budget-conscious students. The main drawback is that some professors prohibit using it on exams, limiting classroom applicability. In short, a focused, practical tool with strong visualization and accessible design.
Pros
  • Free access to advanced probability functions (e.g., binomial pdf) without paying for a calculator
  • Easy to use with a clean, user-friendly UI
  • Includes graphical visualizations of distributions to aid understanding
  • Broad distribution coverage with quick computations and links to formulas for mean/variance; supports raw-data input for hypothesis testing and confidence intervals
  • Valued by students and educators as a budget-friendly, practical learning tool
Cons
  • Exam usage restrictions: some professors do not allow using the app during exams

Subject line says it all. P(Z<x) for normal and a bunch more for essential statistical tests. THANK YOU!!!!
