User Reviews

The Acadiana Advocate app is praised for strong local coverage, especially in sports, and a fast, easy-to-use interface that provides a quick view of current events. Recurring complaints focus on intrusive ads (including video ads) and awkward navigation to the e-edition and paper sections, plus mixed perceptions of political bias.
Pros
  • Strong local Acadiana coverage, including sports, with timely and informative reporting.
  • Easy to use with a fast, smooth, well-designed layout.
  • Subscribers can get a quick view of what's happening and stay up to date.
  • Positive, community-focused reporting and pride in local journalism.
Cons
  • Ads and video ads can be intrusive, creating an ad burden that disrupts reading and access (though updates have reduced ads).
  • E-edition and section navigation is awkward in the app; hard to reach sections and bottom navigation; older editions not clearly labeled.
  • Political coverage shows mixed perceptions of bias, with some readers perceiving anti-Republican bias while others praise balanced reporting.
Recent reviews
The Advocate, on the other hand, is very biased against republicans. The paper seems much more interested in political activism against Republicans than it does in simply reporting the news in a fair and impartial manner.

Today (Sunday) I received only part of the Advocate. No problem - just get on my computer and print the puzzles. But now I have to use the app. Can’t seem to get anywhere trying to do what I want. The E-Edition was much easier to navigate when it wasn’t the app. Jerry Winston
