Wave is easy to use with strong invoicing features, but repeated issues with support, account access, billing, and payment processing undermine reliability.

Pros

Easy-to-use and intuitive for small businesses
Robust invoicing, estimates, and receivables features (invoices, estimates, tracking what customers owe, ability to attach PDFs)
Flexible customization (notes and categories) and straightforward setup
Value with free features and overall affordability for many users

Cons

Poor customer support with no live agents; long wait times and reliance on AI/chat
Frequent account suspensions/lockouts and difficulty regaining access; funds can be held
Difficulty canceling or managing subscriptions and billing issues
Payment processing problems and delays (funds being held, deposits delayed)
Reporting and reconciliation limitations (incomplete or unreliable reports)

Recent reviews

No customer service, beta on important functions; no option for invoicing for additional payment and the worst, after confirmation a client payment we did the job and when almost finished, Wave sent them back the full payment! Which they don’t want to pay now

App does not allow linking of bank accounts. Because this was not clear initially, and no free period of usage is provided, I had to pay and lose $20 for a useless subscription. I tried to contact their support, but found that not not possible after canceling the service.
