User Reviews
I have been using the Eatigo app frequently over the last six months, making 17 reservations, which gives me a clear perspective on the platform's user experience and partnership execution. The platform's success hinges on a balance between app functionality and restaurant program execution.
The Good:
The application itself works flawlessly. It is smooth, easy to use, and I have never experienced a technical issue with making or managing a reservation.
The Challenges (The Program):
The issues consistently arise from the execution of the Eatigo program by partner restaurants. This experience often falls short of expectations due to four main reasons:
1. Undisclosed Menu Limitations: The biggest frustration is discovering, upon arrival, that Eatigo reservations are limited to a separate, restricted menu. This crucial detail is not noted when making the reservation. I plan my meal based on the full restaurant menu only to be handed a limited selection, meaning the item I intended to order is often unavailable.
2. Financial & Value Concerns: It's disappointing that the 50% discount never includes beverages, which are often expensive. Furthermore, many restaurants apply both sales tax and a mandatory 10% service charge. If you enjoy a good meal, the overall deal feels great. However, if you end up at a subpar establishment, paying non-discounted prices for drinks plus these mandatory charges makes the low-quality food feel like it was worth less than half price, leaving the diner feeling "scammed" rather than rewarded.
3. Highly Variable Quality: My experiences are truly 50/50. I have been to excellent restaurants where the discount felt like a wonderful bonus, and I left feeling very satisfied and keen to return. Conversely, other restaurants participating clearly use the 50% discount as a necessary means of attracting customers because the overall food quality and service are genuinely subpar, and I would never return at full price.
4. Reservation Modification Communication Failure: In one instance, I changed a reservation date in the app, and the app successfully confirmed the modification for the following day. However, when I arrived, the restaurant staff was confused, believing I had been a "no-show" on the previous day. While the discount was eventually honored after showing them the app confirmation, this situation reveals a critical and confusing failure in the communication pipeline between the app and the venue's booking system.
Specific Ambiguity Issue:
My most recent reservation highlighted a critical clarity problem involving the listing names and the dining experience. I intended to reserve the rooftop restaurant ("X Rooftop") at a specific hotel, but the Eatigo app also listed the separate participating venue ("X Sports Bar"). Because the main restaurant name ("X") was the same for both, I failed to notice the subtle, but crucial, difference in the qualifier ("Sports Bar") and booked the unintended venue.
This error was compounded by the dining requirement: The Sports Bar was completely empty, and the Eatigo reservation mandated that we sit there, prohibiting us from accessing the superior atmosphere of the Rooftop. Ultimately, I realized the discount isn't for a half-price meal at the actual desired restaurant experience; it's compensation for being seated in a subpar, empty area of the venue. This poor visual distinction and the limitation on the physical experience severely devalue the reservation.
In Conclusion:
Eatigo is a fantastic tool that needs tighter control and mandates for its partnerships. The company should enforce the disclosure of all menu restrictions directly on the booking page, address the lack of reliable reservation modification communication, and ensure listings are crystal clear and visually distinct to prevent user confusion. More importantly, the value proposition erodes completely when quality is low and hidden charges (service service on full bill, non-discounted drinks) stack up, turning a "deal" into a frustrating obligation that compromises both the menu and the entire dining ambiance.

Been using Eatigo for a few years now and love how easy it is to reserve a table and save up to 50% on food, for FREE! Really appreciate they also allow last minute changes/cancel. Besides going to my fav spots, Eatigo helped me discover new places and cuisines to try :)

Use to use this app a fair bit, now can’t use it after update. Needs ISO16 to use. Can you make this backwards compatible?
