User Reviews

Focus Keeper remains a popular, easy-to-use Pomodoro timer that helps users improve focus and productivity, especially in study contexts. However, multiple reviews express frustration with pricing and paid features, including charges and cancellation difficulty, and with updates that add complexity beyond a simple timer. The core value of a straightforward timer endures for many, but some users long for the original free, no-frills experience.
Pros
  • Helps users stay focused and boost productivity across study, work, and ADHD/Autism contexts.
  • Easy to use with a simple, reliable timer.
  • Pomodoro-based approach with regular break reminders that help build a habit.
  • Helpful for organizing study tasks, homework, writing, and reading.
  • Long-standing, no-frills timer that users continue to rely on for time management.
Cons
  • Pricing model and in-app purchases are seen as expensive or exploitative, with reports of charges and difficulty canceling.
  • Recent updates added more features and clutter, making the app feel less like a simple timer and harder to use.
  • Some users miss the original free, no-frills timer and feel the basic experience has been lost.

Works well though sometimes I accidentally hit the screen and stop the tuner without realizing it. Maybe it would be better to only have the pause button control the timer.

Issue Summary: I noticed a problem in how Focus Keeper calculates focus time during a Pomodoro cycle. Today, I completed the first session normally. In the second session, I had 7 minutes left but had to stop and leave the app from morning until late at night. When I came back at night, I finished the remaining 7 minutes, then completed sessions 3 and 4. My real focus time for the day was 100 minutes. However, the Achievements page counted the long break (from morning to night) as if it were focus time, and showed more than 10 hours of focus. Expected behavior: The app should count only the actual minutes spent focusing, even if a session is paused for many hours. Actual behavior: When a session is paused for a long time, the app adds the entire real-world gap to the focus total, which makes the daily focus time incorrect. Please fix this issue so the focus time reflects actual work time only.
