LiveFrame is praised for turning old iPads into digital photo frames and for solid iCloud Shared Albums support with auto-refresh. However, recurring issues include Google Photos API changes causing 403 errors, lack of support for OneDrive/Network Folders, reliability problems and upgrade prompts, a shuffle bug, and absence of Live Photos/Videos support. Overall, it works well for repurposing older devices when Google integration isn’t the source, but stability and cross-source compatibility remain the main concerns.

Pros

Cons

Reliability problems: frequent errors, crashes, or the app stopping after a few photos, plus disruptive upgrade prompts.
Shuffle does not actually shuffle: it often starts from the first photo instead of randomizing.
Live Photos or videos are not supported (and some images can appear blurry at max resolution).

This is nice when it works, but I often have to re-log into social media accounts and lately I can’t get it to log in at all. Although I set it in shuffle mode, I often see the same 50ish photos every day

Could not get it to work with Google photos. Could not get a response from support. I think Google has removed ability, app should say that. I started getting it to work with photos on iPad, but didn’t understand how it was selecting photos. Timed out and asked for payment, before I figured it out (they gave me about 5 minutes)
