User Reviews

VoiceMap is praised for flexible, self-guided tours with GPS navigation and engaging narration across a broad catalog. Key drawbacks are price concerns, unclear pass value, occasional tour discontinuations, and uneven quality due to community-contributed content.
Pros
  • Self-guided tours that you can go at your own pace, with GPS-triggered stops and the ability to pause, relisten, or explore on your schedule.
  • Engaging, well-paced narration by knowledgeable hosts.
  • Very easy to use and convenient; can be used hands-free with headphones (AirPods) and at any time.
  • Wide, diverse catalog of tours across many cities, with previews of routes and narrators before buying.
  • Great for solo travelers and avoiding crowds while still gaining rich local insights.
Cons
  • Tours can be expensive; price per tour and overall cost can be high.
  • Unclear value of Tour Passes and discounts before purchase.
  • Some tours disappear or are no longer available over time, reducing the catalog.
  • Quality can vary because many tours are community-submitted, leading to uneven experiences.

My favorite sound in the natural world is flowing water in a stream. This audio tour was a perfect accompaniment to this peaceful walk along the falls and the stream. I highly recommend the tour.

What an amazing idea for an app! Download this app for your own personal tour guide to hundreds of cities and towns around the world! We’ve used this app multiple times in Europe and have not been disappointed! Tired of the cattle car excursions offered by cruise ships? You know, the ones where someone or two from your group of 30+ gets lost, or stuck in the bathroom line… Not with is app! Just you, and your bestie sharing you earbuds and having a private, at your own pace, tour! Stopping for coffee or gelato when you want! Kudos to whoever thought this up! Fantastic!
