However, recurring drawbacks include intrusive ads (even after paying to remove them), input lag and note/number placement confusion, poor state retention across sessions, confusing UI changes after updates, and cramped tap targets that can cause mis-taps.

Very enjoyable and easy to play Sudoku; many users play daily and consider it one of the best.
Calming mental exercise that helps memory and concentration.
Intuitive controls with helpful features like highlighting numbers of interest and a hunting/isolating locations feature that reduces mistakes.
Option to pay to remove ads for a cleaner experience.
Long-time favorite and reliable daily go-to for many users.

Cons

Ad-heavy experience with ads before/after puzzles and difficulty exiting ads; ads persist even for some who paid to remove them.
Input delay when tapping numbers and confusion between placing numbers vs. notes.
Progress or puzzle state not being remembered between sessions, requiring re-entry of some numbers.
UI issues from updates (notes on/off confusion, layout changes) that disrupt established user comfort.
Bottom tap targets (numbers) being too close, leading to mis-taps.

Recent reviews

No complaints at all until the recent update seemingly removed world time rankings. In my case, the hard puzzle times is what I’m looking for or any puzzle times. This feature needs to return.

This redesign is terrible. Making the numbers below the puzzle hi light the same color as the numbers above is terribly distracting. I also miss the lovely photographs.
