AltoSignal - Silent Paging

AltoSignal is silent staff paging, room to room. No overhead speakers. Tap who you need, what you need, and where, and the signal appears at once on every screen set to hear that channel. Nobody shouts down the hallway, and nobody in a treatment room or an operatory hears a thing.

Built for the way a business actually runs. A tablet on the wall in each room, one at the front desk, and the app on phones for anyone moving between them. Used by dental offices since 2013, and by spas, med spas and salons.

HOW IT WORKS

Compose a signal with three taps: a person or role, an action, and a room. "Dr. Smith, Patient Ready, Operatory 2." "Therapist, Guest ready, Treatment 1." Or type a free-text message when the buttons do not cover it.

The person you paged acknowledges with one tap, and the acknowledgement shows who responded, so nobody wonders whether the message landed. Or they answer with a quick reply — On My Way, Running 5 over — which acknowledges in the same press.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

One-tap paging with who, what and where buttons you customize. Changes apply everywhere at once.

Room states. Every room carries a status every screen can see — ready, in session, needs turning — changed in one tap. Setting a state does not page anyone, so a wall tablet does not chime all day, and each room shows how long it has been in its state.

Quick replies. Your own reply buttons take over the send grid while a signal is showing.

Channels, so each room or team hears only what matters to them, with an alert tone per channel chosen once for the whole account.

An emergency channel. Emergency signals take over every screen with a looping alarm and an Acknowledge button.

Four themes and two sound packs. Each screen keeps its own choice, so a dim treatment room and a bright front desk can differ while showing the same signals. Signing out does not change a screen's theme, which matters when the screen is on a wall.

Per-device layouts, so each screen can use the arrangement that suits it.

ABOUT SOUND

A signal plays a tone on the screen it lands on, at whatever volume that device is set to. Nothing ever plays overhead. A screen that should stay quiet can switch its alert sound off entirely, which is a per-screen setting and does not affect any other screen. The emergency alarm is the one sound a screen cannot turn off.

HOW THE CONNECTION WORKS

AltoSignal is designed for devices that stay on and awake, such as a front-desk tablet or a wall-mounted screen. The app holds a live connection while it is open. It does not use background push notifications, so it has to be running to alert you.

ABOUT ACCOUNTS

AltoSignal is a subscription service. Your business sets up an account and adds devices to it; individual staff do not create their own accounts. There is no registration inside the app.
