Overview

Features & Capabilities

AnyFont lets you install additional fonts in TTF, OTF, or TTC formats on your iPhone or iPad, making them available across apps like Word, PowerPoint, Pages and Keynote. You can add fonts via iTunes File Sharing or Open In from other apps, install single fonts or multiple fonts (including ZIP or TTC files), and preview fonts in-app. An optional bundle of 1,000+ fonts is available via in-app purchase, and fonts can be managed with Dark Mode support.

Note that AnyFont does not change the system font; it enables use of extra fonts inside other apps. Some Cyrillic or Asian fonts may be large and subject to configuration profile size limits (max 20 MB). You can still add your own fonts without purchasing the bundle. Tutorial videos and font resources are accessible from within the app.

User Reviews

Reviewers praise AnyFont for a low, one-time price and for actually installing fonts as advertised. Users repeatedly note quick, helpful support and a simple drag-and-drop workflow that makes font setup easier. However, recurring issues include security concerns around using device configuration profiles, fonts not reliably appearing system-wide, and inconsistent functioning (the app sometimes won’t open or install fonts). Overall, it delivers on its promises for many users, but reliability and security concerns mean it may not suit all devices or use cases.
Pros
  • One-time purchase / affordable; no subscription
  • Works as advertised; easy to set up and install fonts
  • Responsive customer support with quick replies
  • Drag-and-drop workflow simplifies font installation
Cons
  • Uses device configuration profiles (VPN-like) which poses security risk
  • Fonts not reliably available system-wide or in all apps
  • Inconsistent reliability; app sometimes won’t open or install fonts

After following the guidance posted by the help page, I was still unable to install a single font. I followed all of the directions, including going through the sketchy VPN process. No font was ever added to IOS. Most of the positive reviews were from 10 years ago. I was fooled by the high rating and thought that the $2 would be worth it. It wasn’t because the app does not do what is promised. It is outdated.

This app has one of the most bizarrely unintuitive non-Apple compliant user interfaces I’ve come across. Sorry, but I should not have to read instructions to figure out how this app works. It should be obvious by design. Look at “Simple Font Manager” to see how it’s done correctly, and that utility is free. Follow-up: rather than reach out and assist me, or offer a refund, you can see how this developer responded. I have no connection to creation or marketing of the other app I mentioned… clearly there’s no profit motive in it either, because it is offered free of charge. I’m just a satisfied user of it.
