My church has a significant investment 3 M7CL 48 channel consoles, with a dedicated monitor desk.
This allowed me to transition away from aviom which is limited to 16 channels. The M7 did not have a tablet app for in ear.
This was worth the investment in the server software and the tablets and inexpensive headphone amps.

I use an iPod retina display (MD514LL/A), running the only AirFader app version available for my iPad: 1.0.0.557
The server version the band runs on the PC side is version 3, released 2015.
I use AirFader as FOH, and several band members use it to control individual mixes.
I love the fact that this platform allows multiple users access to the console, many people want this nowadays.
I will be honest though, the iPad version seems to limit me from getting to certain places on the console that I really need to go for me to be fully happy with this software. I've thus far only used it a handful of times, but will be required to use it every time I work with this band.
Also, I have not found a way to use the native Yamaha StageMix software at the same time AirFader is running, and I fear there is no way around that. The FAQ on AirFader's website says specifically that you can't use both simultaneously.
Things you cannot access through AirFader on the iPad app are:
GEQ
Dynamics
Stereo mix bus support
Mute Master buttons
Portrait orientation (which is the least troublesome one and not critical for audio adjustments)
I would need to access things like dynamics and Graphic EQ to feel truly comfortable relying on this app for FOH use. In the event you have to set up the console next to the stage, it's crucial to have access to these functions remotely, period. Without them I feel a bit uneasy, and I have to return to the physical console often to access those features. This is less than convenient during a sound check because it's important to be able to instantly hear those adjustments while in front of the PA. During a show (especially if it's crowded) it's difficult to get back and forth / to and from the console, which is why you want remote controllability in the first place.
In closing, these are the reasons I've rated 3 stars. When the features for iPad are upgraded, and there's at least GEQ and dynamics control, I'll gladly up the rating and be far more excited to work on this platform. For now, my hands feel a bit tied...
And yes, I know I could just buy a tablet PC
