User Reviews

Users praise the app for its simple, clean UI and clear visual mapping of resistor color codes, making it a handy, free learning tool. However, reviews note frustrations with ads and privacy-related permissions, plus requests for more features (notably 5-band support and a settings option). Overall, the app is valued for ease of use but hindered by monetization, privacy concerns, and feature gaps.
Pros
  • Simple, easy-to-use, one-page UI that clearly displays resistor color codes and their numeric values.
  • Visually decodes/encodes color bands in a straightforward way, making it easy to see results at a glance.
  • Free to use and helpful for learning and memorizing resistor color codes.
Cons
  • Ads are intrusive/obtrusive and increased after updates, affecting the user experience.
  • Privacy concerns due to tracking and unsolicited Bluetooth permission requests.
  • Missing features: only 4-band mode with no obvious way to switch to 5 bands or access settings.

There is no settings button, gear, preferences, etc., that I can find. Only shows 4 bands. Not sure how to change to 5 bands.

Why would I want to know what 1.5x10^5 ohm is? Couldn’t there be a way to swap to just say 150k ohms? It is a nice app, otherwise.
