Pros
- Tracks a wide range of micronutrients beyond calories (potassium, magnesium, iodine, choline, omega-3, etc).
- Customizable nutrition goals and personalized nutrition features (HealthWatch Goals, personalized nutrition, meal plans).
- Seamless integration with Apple Health/HealthKit and data syncing across devices.
- Free app with a robust food database and flexible data entry (manual entries, user-submitted foods, recipes).
- Supports health-condition based tracking and adjustable nutrition goals for personalized plans.
Cons
- Frequent bugs, crashes, slow performance, and occasional data loss or entry errors.
- Unreliable barcode scanner and a food database that requires manual searching or is incomplete/inaccurate.
- Perceived lack of updates; some bugs persist and users worry the project is abandoned.
- Integration and syncing issues with HealthKit and other services (e.g., Fitbit removal) causing data mismatches.
- Several UI/data-entry glitches in manual entry (top-of-form visibility and validation errors).

I’ve been using this app for a long time and it’s very useful to help track nutrition along with health conditions. Only downside is the scanner doesn’t work anymore… I would have to manually type everything

I compared a lot of apps when I originally downloaded this years ago, and this one did the best job of tracking micronutrients (vitamins and minerals, plus a few other things like choline, caffeine, lycopene, etc). It is also free which I love.
I love that it has so many foods in its database that have all the micronutrients. Plus there is the ability to manually enter foods or recipes or to use manually entered foods that other people have entered.
It doesn’t seem to be being updated that often. It has consistently worked very well though, and it’s kind of nice that it’s it being changed all the time. There is now a bug where it won’t let me create or edit recipes. Also I wish it showed more micronutrients in the daily summary, like Iodine. The specific foods have the info about iodine but it doesn’t show up in the totals for the whole day so you can’t see an overall picture.

I use this app to track nutrients. I do strength training and use the macro nutrient tracker to make sure that I’m getting enough protein. The micronutrient tracker helps me to identify micronutrients that I’m falling short on and it also recommends foods that are high in them. Potassium is a good example of a micronutrient that most Americans don’t get enough of and I learned that potatoes are the best source, not bananas.
