User Reviews

User reviews consistently praise Make: content and archives, but the app is plagued by subscription/login and performance issues. Some improvements post-update, but widespread access problems, slow loads, and weak support dominate. Content is strong when accessible, but reliability and ongoing development are major concerns.
Pros
  • Extensive archive and easy access to past Make: issues and articles.
  • High-quality Make: content and material available in the app.
  • Recent updates dramatically improved performance and reading experience (no mandatory pre-download).
  • Flexible reading formats: traditional magazine layout or web-style interface.
  • Mobile-friendly reading and access on phones.
Cons
  • Persistent subscription/login failures and inability to access purchased content across devices.
  • Poor performance: slow startup, freezing, stalls, crashes, and unreliable loading.
  • In-app purchase/renewal problems leading to locked-out content or failed access to subscriptions.
  • Poor customer support and lack of timely responses.
  • App appears outdated with long gaps between official updates.
Recent reviews
App freezes, stalls, crashes, restarts and repeats. Content looks very interesting… wish I could read it.

Are you kidding me? It’s 2025. Claude code and Cursor exist. Would take you 30 minutes to update this app to make it even somewhat usable. Plus, how do you even change your password? Open up your code base in Cursor and tell it to review the user experience and to make suggestions and implement the suggestions.
