User Reviews

Users praise PDF Expert for strong editing capabilities and a feature-rich, easy-to-use interface that helps finish school/work tasks quickly. However, many report stability problems (lag, freezes, crashes) and reliability issues (not saving work, corrupted exports). A common complaint is the aggressive subscription model with frequent upgrade prompts and high costs. Additional frustration centers on file management and cloud integration. Overall, it’s powerful when it works, but reliability and pricing concerns limit its appeal for some users.
Pros
  • Strong PDF editing capabilities with formatting options (text insertion, centering, etc.) and a feature-rich toolset
  • Easy-to-use interface that enables fast completion of school/work tasks
  • Reliably useful for users who edit PDFs regularly and rely on it for important documents
  • Positive sentiment from some users who consider it a favorite editor with many features
  • Worth it for ongoing, consistent editing needs given the subscription model for those users
Cons
  • Significant performance issues (slow/lag, hangs, crashes, freezes) reported across multiple reviews
  • Reliability problems like not saving PDFs, export corruption, and loss of work/tabs
  • Aggressive paywall and high subscription costs with nagging upgrade prompts
  • File management and interoperability problems (renaming, finding, sharing, and cloud/iCloud integration)

Great app. Love all the features provided in free mode. Im not a heavy user so can you please consider a purchase for like a day or week or month only?? It could be months between use and it would be helpful to not pay during that downtime.

This is an excellent app, especially the fully featured pro version. Well worth a reasonable one time cost, with possible future functionality upgrades that could be available for an additional cost. I know developing software isn’t cheap. Except that everyone used to sell software for a fixed price and now everyone (almost) has gone to a subscription model. Not going to happen for me. I live on a fixed income and can’t afford to pay monthly or yearly for every app I own. I gave up on Adobe for this very reason. Plus their whole suite of software is an unholy mess: good luck uninstalling apps you don’t want. Lastly, I’m a normal guy with an iPhone, an iPad Pro, and a MacBook Pro. I might be mistaken but does one license not cover all my devices (using the same Apple ID)? I want to support Readdle and Ukraine but I can’t print money. I’m going to have to look at less expensive options. Sorry.

I did an in-app purchase in 2018 long before everything was only subscription models. Now the features I previously had access to (convert, compress, etc) have been taken away from me unless I subscribe. Thankfully ilovepdf.com does all of this for free with no signup or subscription required. I will not be using this app for anything anymore. Update: Restoring purchases did not ever restore the features I previously had, which your website said people who purchased your now separate standalone now-defunct PDF Converter App would continue to have access to. Vlad gave me a one year free subscription to restore my features and said he could not guarantee I would get the same when my free subscription expires next year. Apple does not allow corporations to take away paid features just because you changed your model from PDF Expert 6 to PDF Expert 7 and stopped supporting your PDF Converter app to force people into your subscription model you have now. Incredibly shady and dishonest business practices.
