I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Phone.com.
I was charged multiple campaign registration fees for what appears to be the same campaign, even though I did not have multiple approved campaigns receiving service. My invoice shows repeated $15 campaign registration charges, along with the associated recurring campaign fees.
When I contacted support, I expected this to be a straightforward billing correction. Instead, I was told that because I had edited the campaign multiple times, it caused the registration fee to be charged multiple times. Support then told me they could only reverse one $15 charge.
That makes absolutely no sense to me. Editing one campaign should not result in being charged multiple registration fees as though multiple campaigns or services were provided. If an edit triggers another charge, that should be made extremely clear before the customer submits the edit.
What makes this worse is that I asked support a very simple question: Do I have multiple approved campaigns? If not, why was I charged multiple times? Rather than receiving a clear resolution, I had to continue pushing the issue before being told that a supervisor would manually review the duplicate charges and contact me within 24–48 business hours.
Customers should not have to fight this hard to get questionable duplicate charges investigated and corrected. If your billing system can repeatedly charge a customer for editing the same campaign, there should be safeguards, clear warnings, and a simple process for reversing those charges when no additional service was actually provided.
I have the invoice and support conversation documenting the charges and the responses I received.
Phone.com needs to fix the duplicate charges, review how campaign edits are billed, and improve how its support team handles legitimate billing disputes.
