User Reviews

User reviews consistently applaud Polar Flow for its strong training metrics and straightforward setup, and note that core features don’t require a subscription. However, recurring issues undermine the experience: frequent connection drops and unreliable syncing, a dated and slow UI, and occasional inaccuracies in heart-rate data. Customer support is viewed as inconsistent, and some users dislike the app’s privacy/login prompts. Overall, the app works well when it stays connected, but reliability and user experience need significant improvements.
Pros
  • Rich training metrics and analytics
  • Easy initial setup and pairing
  • No subscription required for core features
Cons
  • Frequent connection drops and unreliable syncing between watch and app
  • Clunky, outdated UI with slow performance and syncing
  • Glitchy or inaccurate heart rate data during workouts
  • Poor or inconsistent customer support
  • Privacy/login friction and data collection prompts to use the app

The platform is very informative, intuitive, and provides all necessary metrics. As of 5/29/2026 I get asked to rate the app and write a review every time I use it. I would like for that to not happen.

Lags behind competitors like Garmin in UI and responsiveness to glitches, but excels in enough fundamental areas to be an effective tool for serious athletes.

The app works and it works well. It is, however, super clunky. The requirement to stop one activity to transition to another (e.g., run to cooldown (“outdoor other”), is obnoxiously ridiculous. It’s like it was designed by controls engineers for use as an exercise aid. It’s stable, and the features are non-existent. The fact the app requires a phone and it isn’t supported on watches is subpar. The inability to save favorite or frequent workout types for quick reference is subpar. The fact the Diary (farthest left tab) is the default and isn’t the usable features is ludicrous. The fact I can’t disable or remove the getting started nor blog is obnoxious.
