Features & Capabilities

Pedometer++ is a fitness companion for iPhone and Apple Watch. It tracks steps, distance, active calories, and heart rate, with the option to set a custom step goal and review progress on clear graphs. Earn badges to stay motivated, and see daily totals for steps, distance, and stairs. Widgets on iPhone and Apple Watch provide a quick glance at your progress and goals.

Routes and mapping let you import GPX files or create your own paths, view distance, elevation, ETA, and weather along your route. Offline maps keep you moving where signal is weak, and syncing across devices ensures consistency. The Apple Watch app offers convenient complications to monitor progress at a glance. Premium subscriptions are available for extended features.

User Reviews

Users generally praise Pedometer++ for straightforward step tracking and clear miles conversion, especially on Apple Watch. However, multiple reviews cite negative impacts from the latest update: lost/hidden step data on the watch, readability and UI changes without adjustable options, and features moved behind a subscription. Occasional reliability problems also appear. Overall, solid basics exist, but updates, UI choices, and monetization drive most concerns.
Pros
  • Reliable step tracking and miles conversion.
  • Strong Apple Watch integration, with a watch complication used daily.
  • Simple, accurate, and easy-to-use interface.
Cons
  • Watch update (v8) removed or hid step data during workouts, making steps hard to see on the watch.
  • UI/readability degraded after redesign: fonts for miles/floors are hard to read, with no good option to adjust or revert.
  • Premium gating: widgets and certain data/display options are locked behind a subscription, reducing free functionality.
  • Reliability issues: app stops mid-activity or occasionally shows 0 steps.

I have not had steps counted since the upgrade. I have contacted them here because when I went to help listing all you get is p previously asked questions! I do not want or need any of the extras. I need my steps counted. That’s all I need. I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t ask to pay for premium that I’m getting nothing. It says that the regular step counter is still available without charge, but it’s not working. You shouldn’t be being blackmailed into paying for services. You don’t need. I hit the trial button and it still wasn’t working so I got off. I took it out. I had to reset my watch because I didn’t know if there was something wrong that that was not reading steps. Got my watch. Reset it still is not counting steps. Please get back to me if you have any interest in working with us thank you.

I think I paid $10 on the year it went subscription and now the price doubled. I went for this app against others because it’s a one time payment. Now that it switched to subscription, I will be abandoning it. It was good while it lasted.
