User Reviews

Overall, ContractorTools is praised for its ease of use, valuable Craftsman Costbook integration, reliable cross-device syncing, and the professional look it gives estimates and invoices. Users also report strong, responsive customer support and time savings. Common complaints center on pricing for small shops, frequent UI/layout changes, and gaps in reporting (no basic financial/project metrics) plus limited payment options (Stripe only) and changes to bid delivery via an online portal rather than PDFs.
Pros
  • Very easy to use and learn; intuitive interface.
  • Access to Craftsman Costbook and its cost data adds clear value to estimates.
  • Works across devices with on-device storage and syncing (no constant cloud reliance).
  • Produces professional-looking estimates and invoices that save time and impress clients.
  • Excellent customer support with quick, attentive responses.
Cons
  • Pricing can be high for small contractors and subscription costs can increase.
  • Frequent UI/layout changes by the developer can be frustrating.
  • Lack of basic financial reporting (no project/year metrics).
  • Limited payment options (only Stripe supported).
  • Bids/invoices are delivered via a customer portal rather than PDFs, which some users dislike.

I know theres many operating systems, but i wish you offered a windows version software too. Unfortunately your cloud estimating software doesn’t even sync with CT to handoff and juggle tasks on comfortable platforms.
