User Reviews

BARD Mobile is valued for its large title catalog, accessibility for blind/VI users, and offline downloads, plus ease of use. However, users report recurring login/authentication problems, downloads stuck in queue, and accessibility issues with VoiceOver and braille displays, particularly after iOS updates. Stability and cross-device syncing issues also detract from the experience and navigation challenges persist for search/browse tasks.
Pros
  • Large catalog of books with a vast selection of titles
  • Accessibility-focused design for blind/visually impaired users, including human narration
  • Offline access via downloading books for later listening
  • User-friendly, easy-to-use interface
Cons
  • Frequent login/authentication issues (account suspensions, password resets, cross-device login problems)
  • Download queue problems where items stay queued or fail to download
  • VoiceOver and braille accessibility issues, especially after updates (iOS 26) with navigation and braille displays
  • Stability and compatibility problems (crashes on launch, unreliable syncing, iOS compatibility)

Hello all, I love how far this app has come. I remember it when it looked like a website but now it looks really cool and neatly laid out. I do have one problem with it, though; I wish you could organize your library into folders, and then I wish you could put the books one downloads into said folders. I also wish the books would stay in the order that they were downloaded in. For example, book one of the Harry Potter series, and then book 2 of the Harry Potter series; However, that does not happen. Once I download a book, it throws it in some random order so for example, the first Harry Potter book would be there, and then the first Lord of the rings book, and finally the second Harry Potter book. It is rather annoying to have to swipe through an unorganized library. That is why I request folders and for the ability for the books to stay in the order of the book series.

I’ve used Bard Mobile for a few years and I have been really enjoying it. The app has a wide selection of audiobooks to pick from and it’s nice that I can open the app and listen to a good book while I’m occupied with something else. As of the date of this review, I currently have over 80 books on my account.
