Features & Capabilities

Bronze Age combines two classic pre-civilization games first released in 2013. Players guide their people through Stone and Bronze Ages, facing Ice Age events, disasters, raids, wars, dynastic shifts, religious leaders, and revolts.

Key features include a user-friendly resource manager with more than 60 technologies and more than 20 historical buildings, a Stone Age campaign tracing humanity from Australopithecus to Homo sapiens, and a survival mode against increasingly powerful enemies. Choose your starting date—4,000,000 B.C. (Stone Age) or 6,000 B.C. (Bronze Age)—and lead your civilization toward prosperity.

User Reviews

Bronze Age is praised for addictive, replayable strategy and nostalgic appeal, with fans appreciating its Civ-like depth. However, widespread issues include a recurring screen flicker and UI scaling problems on newer devices, along with balance concerns and value questions. Fixing visual compatibility and maintaining engaging, long-form play would align with the positive sentiment in the reviews.
Pros
  • High replayability and addictive gameplay; players report being able to play for days and getting engrossed.
  • Strong nostalgic appeal with a dedicated fan base since its early days (around 2012).
  • Deep, varied strategies and multiple playstyles that keep the game engaging.
  • Viewed as an accessible Civ-like strategy alternative, appealing to fans of strategy games.
Cons
  • Persistent screen flicker/flash (background turning black or gray), which can cause dizziness and makes the game hard to play.
  • Screen size and device compatibility issues; the UI is too small and doesn't fit newer iPhone screens.
  • Difficulty balance and short total playtime; easy levels can feel too hard for some and the game can become repetitive.
  • Mixed opinions on value/price; some players feel it's not worth paying given free online versions.

Somehow this game never gets old for me although I wish the resolution was fixed

I love this game I really do since… about 2012 on the computer. But there is an issue where the background of the game out side the “map” flashes black and gray very fast enough to cause a seizure. Can someone please fix this issue?
