Features & Capabilities

Helping first responders help people. Getting you invaluable data, information, and details for first-response success. Flexible technology for all emergency-related agencies including fire, police, EMS, and more. All live streaming, constantly updating.

An iSpyFire account is required to use this application.

Features include:

Call notification Call information Call location Map layers Address history Directions Responding Apparatus-specific features including AVL and personnel on board

BATTERY CONSUMPTION Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. iSpyFire has been designed to use GPS and other sensors sparingly. The app relies on location data only while you are responding to a location or when you are attempting to create a new location (except when an apparatus is in AVL mode, in which case it is constantly checking).

User Reviews

iSpyMobile offers strong mapping features and CAD-like capabilities, and some users praise the developers’ responsiveness. However, post-update instability, unreliable notifications, and a degraded UI/UX severely impact reliability for emergency dispatch. While the app can be powerful when it works, its frequent issues undermine its suitability for safety-critical use, and the team appears to be actively addressing the problems.
Pros
  • Powerful map overlay with multiple layers and fast routing for dispatch.
  • CAD-like functionality with access to radio logs and unit times when working.
  • Developers are active and responsive, continually fixing issues and adding improvements.
Cons
  • Post-update instability: frequent crashes, glitches, and failure to load active/past calls.
  • Notifications are unreliable—alerts may not appear, show incorrect calls, or ignore off-duty settings.
  • UI/UX degraded after updates: oversized text, confusing icons, and cluttered information that slows navigation.
  • Reliability concerns for safety-critical use: inconsistent data, missed calls, and overall poor performance.

Downloaded this to use for our fire operations. I’ve tried creating a username, registering an email over and over and it doesn’t work. There’s also no support to assist you with anything.

Ispy has had some really rough patches throughout its total overhaul, but the team is very active and diligent on getting things fixed and improved. I have since switched to active alert at a different county and now wish we still used ispy. The maps overlay is great, tons of layers, routing is fast and snappy, radio logs, and unit times are very reliable. This is truly a replacement for a CAD and I really miss it.

I disable notifications when I am off duty and they still come through. Others I work with log out and log back in. I work for multiple departments and it’s easier to stay logged in. I really wish it was like the old version where you could turn notifications on and off as needed. The new version of the app is very glitchy.
