User Reviews

Users praise SkyView for rich satellite data, real-time overhead info, and portability, plus solid telescope compatibility. Recurrent complaints center on an outdated/incomplete catalog (missing Starlink/Webb), a cumbersome UI/AR workflow with many toggles, and data accuracy issues. Some users also report performance problems or a preference for the older version. Overall, the app is valuable for locating satellites, but data freshness and UX improvements are the top recurring needs.
Pros
  • Rich satellite data with depth and accuracy about satellites
  • Real-time satellite visibility information (how many satellites are overhead)
  • Portable and reliable for night viewing and travel (including in-flight use)
  • Ability to track satellites individually and flexible catalog control
  • Good compatibility with telescope hardware (e.g., NexStar) and overall utility
Cons
  • Satellite catalog is incomplete and outdated (missing major satellites like Starlink and the Webb telescope) with slow updates
  • UI/AR workflow is cumbersome and cluttered (many category toggles; hard to view everything at once)
  • Data accuracy issues (statuses can be outdated or incorrect, e.g., Tiangong) and occasional misidentifications
  • Occasional performance problems or user desire to revert to an older version (frustration with changes)

I’m looking for international space station and it shows me the wrong location of it

I really enjoyed the older version of SkyView. This way on this app there is more information about satellites but a little harder to view what I am trying todo. But a lot more informational. Wish in was all one app and could hear the music and look at satellites like the older app z.
