Improve your intelligence and working memory !

The n-back task is a continuous performance task that is commonly used as an assessment in cognitive neuroscience to measure a part of working memory and that has been suggested as a method for increasing fluid intelligence (Gf).

You will be presented with a sequence of stimuli. The task consists of indicating when the current stimulus matches the one from n steps earlier in the sequence.

This app is highly configurable (up to 4 simultaneous stimuli, nback level up to 6, speed...)

There’s a + and - that you tap to raise or lower N level. It doesn’t work. Can’t raise N above 1.

Do yourself a favor and check this out before looking and further. This app is the closest I’ve found to the classic original. Simply, it’s superior to the half dozen other apps I’ve tried in terms of fidelity to concept and gameplay (for lack of a better word). For all the bells and whistles, the other apps I’ve tried fall short, generally, by adding too much by way of distractions. There is a bug where you can’t change the n-back level from the admin screen (but can adjust in the play screen pressing +/-). Additionally, I’d love the ability to go beyond 6 levels, if possible.
