Codewords is a Chrome extension that provides a brain workout through 900 codeword puzzles. In each puzzle, every letter A-Z is hidden behind a number 1-26, and the same number always represents the same letter. Start with the puzzles where all letters appear (one number per letter), then deduce the mapping to reveal the message. Some letters are provided to start you off, and you can reveal more letters if you’re stuck.

Features include a zooming grid, cheats and answer checking, and landscape mode for comfortable play. It’s also known as Enigma Code, Code Breaker, Cipher Crosswords, Code Crackers, and Kaidoku. If you want a bigger challenge, try the other Crossword apps in the suite.

I’m disappointed because although I like this app, there are a lot of glitches that need fixing. Approx 6 of the games I have completed show up as having no errors, however do not congratulate and tick as being completed. The last one I completed like this was pack 9, puzzle 2.
