Mistline: Breath Hold Trainer

Breathe with the light. The orb fills and empties with every breath, a point of light circles each hold, and every table is built from your own comfortable hold.

Mistline is a calm breath-hold trainer for dry land. The orb in the glass ring fills as you breathe in and empties as you breathe out; during a hold, one point of light circles the ring exactly once. You can follow a whole table with your eyes half closed.

TABLES BUILT FROM YOUR OWN HOLD Tell Mistline the hold you can do calmly and every table is made from that number. The CO2 table keeps the hold the same while the rest between holds shrinks. The O2 table keeps the rest the same while the hold grows, and always stops short of your best. Box breathing, cyclic rounds and a gentle custom table sit beside them. Every hold in a table is a fraction of your comfortable hold, never your maximum.

A STOPWATCH FOR YOUR BEST The max-hold stopwatch counts up with no target and no encouragement to go further. The light laps the ring once a minute, the seconds are shown, and the only line on screen is the reminder to stop when your body tells you to.

GUIDED BY SOUND AND TOUCH Soft airy cues mark each inhale, hold and exhale, and a light touch marks each phase and the last three seconds of a hold. Both can be turned off. The screen stays awake during a session.

A STREAK THAT FORGIVES Train on a day and its dew drop fills. A freeze covers one missed day on its own, you can hold two, and you can earn one a day by choosing to watch an ad. Days trained in all is a second count that never goes down, even when a streak ends.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND YOUR BEST OVER TIME Twenty achievements for showing up: your first table, a full week, ten days, an hour held in total, your first two-minute hold. The personal-best line only ever steps up. Nothing rewards holding past three minutes.

SHARE A CARD Make a card of your longest hold, your last session or your streak, drawn in the same glass ring, and share it anywhere.

SAFETY FIRST Breath-hold training carries real risk. Never hold your breath in or near water, in a bath, pool or the sea, without trained supervision: shallow-water blackout gives no warning. Never while driving. Stop if you feel dizzy. Mistline is a training timer for dry static practice, sitting or lying down. It is not medical advice and not dive instruction.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. Your sessions, holds and streak stay on your phone. English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German. A misty dark look and a dawn light look.

FREE, WITH ADS Mistline is free. A banner sits on the Progress and Settings screens, and now and then a full-screen ad appears after you close a finished session. Never during a session, never before one.
