Brixa: Wine & Mead Maker

Work out your wine chemistry inside the batch itself. Brixa reads the gravity, temperature, pH and TA you have already logged, does the arithmetic, and tells you what to add — "add 0.34 g potassium metabisulfite", not a bare number you still have to interpret.

Built for kit wine, fruit wine, grape, mead and cider.

THE CALCULATORS

• ABV, by the simple formula and by a high-gravity method that stays accurate on mead
• Brix to Specific Gravity to Baume, with hydrometer temperature correction
• Chaptalization: sugar needed to reach a target ABV
• Acid addition and acid reduction: titratable acidity, tartaric or malic
• Molecular SO2: a pH-aware free SO2 target, converted to an exact KMS dose
• Backsweetening: sorbate and KMS stabilizing doses to use before you sweeten
• Blending, by Pearson square
• Cost per bottle, down to the campden tablet

Open any calculator from inside a batch and its fields arrive pre-filled from that batch's last reading. Nothing to retype.

THE BATCH LOG

• A card per batch with a live gravity curve and a day count
• A readings timeline for SG or Brix, temperature, pH and TA, with ABV and attenuation computed as you enter them
• Racking and additive dates calculated from your own schedule, with notifications
• Notes and photos on every batch
• Kit mode: choose a kit style and get the step schedule with the dates already worked out
• Bottling: yield and cost per bottle
• Printable QR tags for your carboys: scan the tag on the vessel and that batch opens
• Home Screen widgets and a Live Activity for the batch you are watching
