TryPoint: Rugby Scoreboard

TryPoint is the scoring app for whoever is on the touchline: coach, referee, club official or supporter. Record the match as it happens and walk away with the report already done.

A CLOCK THAT BEHAVES LIKE RUGBY The second half starts where the first half's regulation time ended, and in stoppage time the clock keeps running and turns red — you end the half, not the app. Sound and vibration alerts at the end of a half and at the end of a sin bin.

THREE FORMATS • Sevens — 2 halves of 7 minutes • Rugby XV — 2 halves of 40 minutes • Custom — you set the half length and the yellow card time

FULL SCORING Try, conversion, penalty, drop goal and penalty try. After a try the app asks whether it was converted. A penalty try does not ask for a number, because it is awarded to the team.

CARDS AND SUBSTITUTIONS A yellow card starts a sin bin counter that only runs while the game does — it stops at half time and during pauses, as the laws require. Red cards and substitutions go into the report too.

PLAYER NUMBERS A large number pad, made to be used with the phone in your hand. And always optional: if you could not see who scored, just skip it.

PDF MATCH REPORT At full time, generate a PDF with the score, the complete timeline (half, clock, player and running score for every point) and the team summary. You can add referee notes and link them to the events: reason for a card, injury, incident off the ball. Share it with the group, save it or print it.

TOURNAMENTS AND LEAGUES Build the competition from your saved teams: round robin or groups plus knockout, single or double round. The app draws the groups, builds the bracket, works out the order and kick-off times and keeps the standings up to date, with attacking and defensive bonus points. A sevens tournament fits in one day across several pitches; a XV league runs one round a week, each match at the home club's ground. A drawn knockout match goes to extra time, sudden death and the kicking competition, as World Rugby requires. The fixture table and the final tournament report come out as PDFs.

SAVED TEAMS AND SQUADS Set a team up once, with its colour and squad. In later matches the players become one-tap buttons and the report carries the name of whoever scored.

STATISTICS Points, tries, kicks and cards totalled by team and by player, filtered by period, opponent and tournament.

WORKS OFFLINE Everything happens on the device. No sign-up, no login, no account.

HISTORY Finished matches are saved and the PDF can be generated again whenever you want. If the app closes mid-match, it offers to pick up where you left off.
