CAPTURE YOUR SESSION Record the sounds around you with live waveform and level displays. Add timestamp markers during a session so you can return to important moments.

PLAY SHORT TRIGGER SOUNDS Choose four short, app-generated cues: three knocks, a chime, a tone, or a noise burst. Add an optional quiet-listening countdown and stop at any time. During recording, cue commands are labeled as app output and remain visible in review. Speaker output may be picked up by the microphone. Logged times describe playback commands, not exact sound arrival.

LISTEN CLOSER Scrub through the waveform, zoom in for detail, and use precision seeking or an A/B loop to revisit a passage. Adjust listening speed, compare voice-focus and rumble-reduction filters, and inspect recorded sound with a real spectrogram.

KEEP THE ORIGINAL. SAVE YOUR EDITS. Create a named WAV copy with your chosen filter and gain. Save the whole recording or trim it to an A/B selection. Your source recording stays intact, and saved versions remain available for comparison and sharing. Playback speed affects listening only; it is not applied to saved copies.

BUILD YOUR FIELD JOURNAL Create dated entries with observations, optional recording links, and saved places. Search your notes and return from an entry to its associated audio. Deleting a journal entry preserves the original recording.

MAP YOUR INVESTIGATIONS See the locations you have attached to journal entries on a real map. Search for a place with Apple Maps, enter a name manually, or choose Use Current Location for a single location request. Location access is optional, and SpiritTrace does not track you in the background. Name-only places remain in the journal without map pins.

SHARE WHAT YOU CAPTURED Share source audio or a saved edited copy through the native iOS share sheet. Recordings with app-sound events include a separate cue log; edited-copy logs retain overlapping intervals relative to the copy. Choose Files or another available destination. Sharing keeps your library recording and saved edits in place.

YOUR SESSION, YOUR CONTEXT Recordings, saved versions, notes, and attached coordinates are stored on your device. Place searches and map imagery use Apple Maps and may need an internet connection.
