TailMark is a plane-spotting logbook that works entirely offline.

Type any US tail number and TailMark instantly tells you the manufacturer, model, category, and engine type — no signal required, no waiting on a network lookup. That's because TailMark bundles a real database of over 300,000 US-registered aircraft (built from the FAA's own public registry) directly inside the app.

How it works:

1. Spot an aircraft and log its tail number. TailMark auto-fills the aircraft's details from the bundled database — or note manually if it's not in there yet.
2. Tag the airport, add a photo and notes if you want.
3. Build your life list: every unique aircraft you've ever logged, grouped by type and manufacturer, with how many times you've seen each one.
4. Keep your spotting streak alive day to day, and watch your stats grow — total sightings, unique types, unique manufacturers.

See where your aircraft have actually flown. Tap any sighting and TailMark plots that aircraft's real flight paths over the last 30 days on a map — every leg it flew, where each one started and ended — and shows its live position if it happens to be airborne right now. Flight data comes from adsb.lol's network of volunteer ADS-B receivers.

Point your camera at the fin. TailMark reads the registration straight off the tail using your device's own text recognition and fills in the aircraft for you. Nothing leaves your phone.

Earn your wings. Seventeen badges track the milestones that matter to a spotter — your first sighting, ten unique types, five manufacturers, a rotorcraft, a glider, a dawn log, a night log, a 30-day streak — with every locked badge showing exactly what unlocks it. Optional reminders nudge you before a streak lapses.

A map of your own spotting, too: every sighting you've logged, filtered by today, this week, this month, this year, or any single date.

TailMark Pro removes the daily limit on following aircraft live, and adds unlimited photos per sighting, CSV export of your full logbook, ad removal, and an optional digest that alerts you when something notable is reported near an airport you track.
