A MAP, NOT A SEARCH BOX The app opens straight onto the map at your location. Every pin is a toilet; one tap shows details, distance and directions – via Apple Maps or Google Maps. Six map styles, from a light city plan to satellite imagery.

OPENING HOURS AT A GLANCE Where opening hours are recorded, PeeFinder turns them into a plain "open now" or "closed" – instead of a line you have to decode first.

WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL No reception in a basement or abroad? The map and your favourites still show the last data that was loaded, with the time it was loaded next to it – so you know how fresh it is.

REVIEWS THAT ACTUALLY HELP Alongside the overall rating you can rate six details: cleanliness, condition, washbasin area, staff, mobile signal and Wi-Fi. Photos fill in the rest, so you know what you are walking into.

CONTRIBUTE IN UNDER A MINUTE Missing a toilet? Report it right away, with a photo from the camera or your library. Four kinds of report: • a public toilet • a temporary toilet for a festival, concert or fair, with start and end date • open up your own toilet to everyone • rate a toilet in a hotel, restaurant or shop

Approved public reports are sent back to OpenStreetMap. Every map app benefits from that, not just this one.

YOUR PLACES Save favourites for the toilets you need regularly. If a temporary one is about to expire, the app reminds you in time – if you want it to. An activity view shows what you have reported and rated. Collectors get badges – and "PeeRun", a small jump-and-run, makes the wait shorter.

WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM The foundation is OpenStreetMap, the free map project. A weekly sync keeps the data current, and in-app reports are added on top. Every reported toilet is checked by a human before it goes live.

PRIVACY No ads, no ad tracking, nothing handed to advertising networks. Your location is used on the device only, to centre the map and work out distances. An account is needed for reviews, reports and favourites – searching works without one.
