Theatrium Live turns your Apple TV into an ambient music display with the option of synchronising your connected lights, for a truly immersive music experience.

Put on an album and it fills the screen with the cover art, angled like a record sleeve with a soft reflection underneath. Press once and it steps into a full-screen visualizer — dozens of styles, from slow drifting color fields to sharp, rhythm-driven motion. Every style is built from the song's own tempo, not a microphone, so it stays in time even with the TV turned down.

If you have Apple Home lights, Theatrium Live can sync them to what's playing: the lights in your room cross-fade slowly through the colors on screen, never flashing or strobing. HomeKit is entirely optional — the album art and visualizer are a complete ambient display on their own, with or without connected lights.

Theatrium Live reads whatever is already playing on this Apple TV. Choose your source once, in Settings:

• Apple Music — no setup, plays straight from your library • Last.fm — for scrobbling setups • Sonos — found automatically on your network

What you need: • An Apple TV 4K • One of the sources above, with something playing • An Apple Home with HomeKit lights, only if you want the light sync
