Choose your media, set a file-size limit, and let Fit to Send create a smaller copy ready to save or share. The app checks the actual output size before offering your result.

PHOTOS • Choose up to 20 still photos at a time. • Pick 500 KB, 1 MB, 2 MB, or a custom limit from 20 KB to 20 MB. • Make smaller JPEG copies and preview them with pinch-to-zoom. • See the new file size and dimensions before sharing.

VIDEOS — NEW IN 1.1 • Choose one video and keep its full length and sound. • Pick a 5 MB, 10 MB, or 25 MB limit, or enter 1–100 MB. • Make a standard MP4 that can play without Fit to Send. • Play your smaller copy, then save it to Photos or Files, or open a sharing app. • Stop processing whenever you need to; your original stays unchanged.

PRIVATE AND SIMPLE • Photo and video compression happens on your device. • Your originals are never changed or deleted. • No accounts, ads, subscriptions, analytics SDKs, or media-processing server. • Photo copies omit original GPS and camera metadata; video copies omit original location metadata.

Smaller files can lose detail. Check the picture, important text, and sound before sharing. Messaging and upload limits vary by service; choose the limit required by your destination.

Photo output is JPEG. Transparent areas become white. Animated images are not supported. Still-image sources must be 60 MB or less and may be resized to 4,096 pixels on the longest side.

Video output is standard-color H.264/AAC MP4, up to 1080p and 30 fps. Inputs can be up to 30 minutes, 4K and 2 GB, with one video track and no more than one audio track. Smaller targets may reduce resolution, frame rate and audio quality. If a target is too small for the full clip, choose a larger limit or trim it in Photos. Keep Fit to Send open while it processes a video.

Cloud-only originals may need to download through Apple's photo picker first. Temporary copies are cleaned up after 24 hours when you next open the app; save copies you want to keep.
