UP NUMBER is a strategy puzzle about placing numbers in the right spot.

■ The rule fits in one line Every turn a number appears. Put it in an empty cell on the line. Cells that rise from left to right form a chain, and longer chains score far more. Where you place each number is the whole game.

■ Everyone gets the same numbers In multiplayer, every player receives the same numbers in the same order. Luck is out of the picture — the result comes down to judgement.

■ The map is drawn by dart Before each game a dart board picks the map. · Cross — two lines that cross twice, 2 rounds · Fork — one line that splits up and down, 2 rounds · U-turn — down and back up, 1 round · Loop — a ring where the end meets the start, 1 round A match is two games combined, on two different maps.

■ Item mode — eight items to turn the game around LINK, CUT, CHOICE, SWAP, PREVIEW, WILD, RESHUFFLE and MOVE. Two dart boards pick your two items before the start, and when an item card comes up mid-game a roulette spins — use it on the spot.
