Morning Briefing

One screen in the morning, and you know how the day is going to go.

Morning Briefing gathers four things you check separately — the weather, the Spanish name day, the birthdays in your address book, and what you ought to take with you — onto a single screen. No accounts, no sign-up, no advertising.

WHEN YOU OPEN IT • Your city's weather right now, and the next eight hours one by one, each with its chance of rain. • The Spanish name day (santoral). The moveable feasts — Viernes de Dolores, Corpus, Pentecostés — are computed from Easter, not copied from a list. • Birthdays from your address book in the next two days. • A three-sentence written briefing: how the weather looks, one specific tip with a time on it ("grab an umbrella, rain around 15:00"), and the name day when there is one.

AT 7:30 A notification with the day's saint and one short line about the weather. Your iPhone schedules it, it never passes through a server, and it stays correct even if you haven't opened the app in days: the name day is computed on the device, not fetched.

THE WIDGET Small or medium on the home screen: temperature, city, name day and the last briefing.

BIRTHDAYS When someone in your address book has a birthday, the app drafts a greeting in Spanish — casual, not sugary — and opens WhatsApp with the message ready for you to edit before sending. With no phone number saved, it opens the share sheet instead.

YOUR KEY, YOUR ACCOUNT The written briefing comes from Google Gemini, on your own AI Studio key, which is free. You paste it once in Settings, it is stored encrypted in the iPhone Keychain, and requests go straight to Google. No subscription, no account to create, and no server of mine in between.

Without a key the app still works: weather, forecast, name day, birthdays, the notification and the widget need no key at all. The only thing missing is the written text.

PRIVACY • Your coordinates never leave the iPhone. They become your city's name on the device, and only that name is sent to the weather service. • From your address book, only the first name of someone with a birthday leaves the phone, and only inside the request to Gemini. Surnames, phone numbers and everything else stay here. • No analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs and no servers of my own. The developer receives none of your data, ever.

REQUIREMENTS iPhone running iOS 26 or later. The app's labels are in English; the name day calendar, the notifications and the birthday greetings are in Spanish, and the name day calendar is the Spanish one. The written briefing needs a free Google AI Studio key.
