Foosball Pocket PF-10 is a table soccer machine that happens to live in your phone. Six rods, a spun-metal field, one opponent that never rubber-bands. First to seven.

It is not a soccer app. Nothing here is tapped. The rods are the controls.

THE EXPERIENCE • Slide — touch a rod's lane and drag across the table. The rod follows your finger 1:1. • Tilt — drag along the table to rotate the rod. Let go and it locks flat or standing, like a real handle. • Flick — a fast release spins the rod for a kick. The foot pivots under the rod, so swipe up to shoot down-field and swipe down to shoot up-field. Inverted, like the real thing. • Trap — touch a figure while the ball is at its feet and it holds the ball. Release, then punish. • Multi-touch — one finger per rod. Defend with one hand, attack with the other. • Smack — rap the phone and the table takes the hit. Ask any foosball player.

THE OPPONENT Five tiers. Every one of them drives the same rods with the same motor, at speeds comparable to your own. They differ only in how well they read the ball. No rubber-banding, no hidden handicaps.

• ROOKIE — Sees the ball late. Swings at ghosts. • AMATEUR — Leads the ball a little. Still overcommits. • CLUB — Reads the angles. Covers its goal. • SEMI-PRO — Aims for corners. Feeds its striker. • LEGEND — Traps, aims, punishes. Full machine.

POWER-UPS Pick two of six before the serve and throw the rockers when it counts: Overdrive, Magnet Boots, The Wall, Extra Man, Hot Rails, Bullet Time.

THE HARDWARE A powder-coated orange shell. A brushed-aluminium tray around a spun-metal field plate. Chrome rods, ceramic and graphite figurines, machined keys, smoked-glass readouts and orange LEDs. A launch scope you time by eye before every serve. Engineered, not decorated.

Turn the phone sideways and the PF-10 becomes a handheld console: the full table between two thumbs. With haptic feedback.
