WHAT IT TELLS YOU

The panel readout shows the number of rows, how many lamps wide the board is, how many seconds a full loop of your message takes, and roughly how far away it can be read. That last figure is measured from the letters the app actually draws and then reduced, because a letter made of separate lamps does not carry as far as a printed one. It is an estimate, and the app says so.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS

It shows text on your own screen. It cannot send or broadcast anything and it cannot contact emergency services. iOS can put a notification over your sign and no app can prevent that — use a Focus. Brightness is capped by the hardware and iOS dims the display as the phone warms. Nothing you type leaves your device: no account, no sync, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. The one network call the app makes is to RevenueCat, to check whether a Pro subscription is active — so we do not claim it uses no network at all.
