應用程式 is a black-and-white drill app for Taiwanese Mandarin — 繁體字, Taiwan vocabulary, Taiwan tone readings, and a Taiwanese voice. It is built for people who need to understand and be understood in Taiwan: 501 words and phrases across 12 units, from your first 不好意思 to meeting your partner's family.

TAIWANESE, NOT MAINLAND • 捷運 not 地鐵. 計程車 not 出租車. 腳踏車 not 自行車. 禮拜 not 星期. • Taiwan tone readings: 垃圾 lèsè, 星期 xīngqí, 企業 qìyè, 研究 yánjiù. • Zero erhua. The 有 + verb past. The particle system — 喔, 啦, 齁, 蛤, 耶. • Hokkien loanwords that make you sound local: 歹勢, 好家在, 阿莎力, 母湯. • A drill that pits the Taiwan word against the Mainland one, so you learn the difference instead of picking one at random.

BUILT FOR SPEAKING AND LISTENING Reading and writing are not the point. Every item is scheduled twice — once for recognising it by ear, once for producing it out loud — and the two decay independently, so you can't hide behind recognition. • Listen and pick the meaning. Audio only, no characters, no pinyin. • Say it out loud, scored on-device against a Taiwan speech recogniser. • Assemble sentences from word tiles. • Roleplay both sides of a real scene: the night market, the 7-Eleven counter, the taxi, your girlfriend's mother.

NO MERCY, ON PURPOSE • Get something wrong and you must tap the right answer before moving on. • It comes back a few cards later, and again, until you get it clean. • There is no "easy" button. Correct but slow counts as shaky. • Words you keep missing get flagged and get their own drill.

WORD BANK Everything you have met collects in one searchable list. Filter by unit, by your weakest, by the high-frequency ones. Tap any word to hear it. Re-drill whatever the list is showing.

WORKS ON A PLANE No account. No sign-in. No network requests of any kind. The entire course ships inside the app and the speech runs on your device. Turn the radio off and nothing changes.

A NOTE ON THE VOICE The app speaks only through a Chinese (Taiwan) voice. If you have not installed one it will tell you where to get it rather than quietly substituting a Mainland accent — because that substitution is the exact thing this app exists to prevent.
