MetroBus CBR is an independent app made by a rider. It does not represent, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by any government entity, public body or transport operator, including Metro Mondego, AGIT, the Sistema de Mobilidade do Mondego and SMTUC.

MetroBus CBR is an independent, unofficial app for the Coimbra Metrobus. It shows the next departures from your station on a single board: one side into the city, one side out towards Serpins, all three lines together, with a countdown to the next bus and the two that follow. It also tells you where each bus ends, because not every bus runs the whole line.

Since 10 September 2026 the network has three colour-coded lines: Blue between Coimbra B and Serpins, Red between Praça da República and Serpins, and Green across the Baixa linking República to Coimbra B.

WHAT YOU GET • Departures board for your station, by direction, every line that stops there on one screen. • Full timetable per station for weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the next departure marked and a filter per line. • Plan a trip between any two stations, with the next connections and the ticket fare by municipality. • Map of the network with estimated bus positions, plus a line diagram of all 37 stations. • Departure reminders: a notification before your bus leaves, or when it is time to walk. • Station information: which lines stop there, the municipality, ticket machines and offices where the operator has announced them. • Fares and passes as printed on the station boards, including the MOVE-C pass. • The operator's service notices, when there are any. • Favourite stations, so yours are always at hand. • Light and dark themes, in English and Portuguese.

ON IPHONE AND IPAD • Home Screen widget in two sizes, with the line, the station, the destination and the minutes to your next departure. After the last bus of the day it shows tomorrow's first departure time. • On iPhone, send a departure to the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island with one tap: the line, the station, the destination and the departure time. Stop following it whenever you want, from the same button. • Run the "Next Metrobus" shortcut from the Shortcuts app and hear the line, the destination and the departure time out loud. • All three read the timetable already stored on your device, so they work with no signal. • On iPad, both directions of the board sit side by side, and the line diagram sits next to the map.

WORKS OFFLINE The timetable is downloaded and kept on your device, and the map ships inside the app. After the first download everything works without an internet connection.

HONEST ABOUT ESTIMATES There is no live vehicle feed for the Metrobus. Countdowns and bus positions are estimated from the operator's published timetable and the clock, and the app says so, on a screen that explains how times are estimated. Always check official information before travelling.

PRIVACY No account, no adverts, no trackers, no analytics. Location, if you allow it, is used on your device to find the nearest station and work out your walking time, and is never sent anywhere. The only network traffic is downloading the timetable and service notices.

TRADEMARKS The trademarks named belong to their respective owners. The Metrobus is operated by Metro Mondego as part of the Sistema de Mobilidade do Mondego, and line and station names are used only to identify that service.
