Truth, checked as you read
Check the evidence behind the headline.
Bear in Mind Fact Check brings fact-checking into Safari. Open an article and run the extension to compare its claims with primary records and independent sources. Follow the progress and read a report with evidence links and a validity grade from 0.5 to 5 stars.
Check articles, pasted posts, and screenshot text
Bring a link, paste a post, or choose up to eight screenshots. FactCheck recognizes screenshot text on your device so you can review and correct it before starting a check. Only the reviewed text is sent for analysis; screenshot images stay on your device. Reports assess the submitted claims, not the authenticity of photos or videos. Save the report with its submitted text and return to it in Library.
A guided Safari setup helps you enable the extension, choose website permissions, and check articles while you read.
NEWS BRIEFS
Choose up to eight HTTPS news websites and request 1–10 prominent articles from each. The app selects readable recent coverage where available, compares the stories, and produces one combined brief. One completed brief uses one check.
YOUR REPORT LIBRARY
Find saved articles and briefs with search and filters. Read the summary, full findings, and sources. Up to 100 completed reports are stored privately on your device. Share findings as a PDF or export a news brief as Markdown.
SAFARI REPORTS AND FEEDBACK
Switch between Summary, Full report, and Sources using tabs that stay visible while you scroll. Share completed findings as a PDF with clickable links. Send private feedback from Settings or Safari, with an optional reply email and control over whether to include the article link or report.
PRIVACY
Checks run only when you request them. Article text and source metadata are sent as linked Markdown to the secure FactCheck service for analysis. Reports are saved locally. Operational telemetry excludes raw article URLs, titles, article text, and report text.
ALLOWANCE
One check per week is included. FactCheck Plus provides six checks per week with a monthly subscription. Weekly allowances reset every Sunday and do not roll over. Optional two-check packs are stored separately, used after the weekly allowance, and do not expire at the weekly reset. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled in Apple Account settings.
FactCheck is a research and media-literacy aid. It can make mistakes; read the sources and use your own judgment.
When your available checks run out, buy a two-check pack from the app or a shared submission. Safari can open the app to complete the purchase. Your submitted content stays ready for retry.
